CHF 40 to 100 per m² depending on the performance reached, for buildings with a permit issued before 2000. Apply before works start.
Am I eligible? →Solar panels: the Pronovo one-time grant
There is no general cantonal subsidy for a standard residential solar installation in Vaud. The base support is federal: the one-time grant paid by Pronovo, calculated from the power and configuration of the system.
- Below 100 kWp: the application for the small one-time grant is filed once the installation is built and commissioned.
- Protected buildings: the cantonal S04 aid can cover the extra cost of a heritage-compatible solution, up to CHF 40'000 in total2.
- Insulation combined with solar: the M-01 bonus of CHF 100/m² can be combined with Pronovo — the two applications are filed separately3.
Our team sizes your installation, files the Pronovo application at the right moment and prices every aid into the quote. Discover our solar offer.

Heat pump: from CHF 5'000 to replace your heating
The Vaud Buildings Programme supports replacing a main oil, natural-gas or electric heating system with a heat pump1:
- Air-to-water (M-05): CHF 5'000 for a single-family home or up to 15 kW; CHF 400/kW above that and for other buildings.
- Ground- or water-source (M-06): CHF 20'000 for a single-family home; CHF 4'000 + CHF 800/kW above 20 kW.
Key conditions: the heat pump becomes the main heating, subsidised power is capped at 50 W/m² of energy reference area, and pre-2000 buildings need a CECB envelope class A to E. Above all: the application must be approved before any purchase or start of works.

Insulation: CHF 40 to 100 per m² depending on performance
Measure M-01 supports insulating the facade, roof, walls and floor of buildings whose permit predates 20001:
| U-value ≤ 0.20 W/m²K after works | CHF 40/m² |
| U-value ≤ 0.15 W/m²K — reinforced insulation | CHF 70/m² |
| U ≤ 0.15 combined with a solar installation3 | CHF 100/m² |
The minimum grant per application is CHF 3'000, and the U-value must improve by at least 0.07 W/m²K. Replacing windows alone is not covered by M-01 — it can be within a global renovation (IP-14 or M-15). Discover our insulation solutions.

Your subsidy application in 4 steps
Eligibility and estimate
We identify the applicable federal, cantonal and municipal subsidies — clearly separating confirmed amounts from estimates.
Technical visit
A technician checks the building, power sizing, surfaces and the documents your application needs.
Filing at the right moment
Before works for cantonal measures, after commissioning for the Pronovo one-time federal grant.
Follow-up until payout
Invoices, certificates, completion notice: we follow the file until the money is actually paid.
Two extras worth remembering
Municipal subsidies
Several municipalities in the canton — including Lausanne, Yverdon-les-Bains, Montreux, Renens — grant additional energy or renovation aid. Amounts, deadlines and budgets vary: get written confirmation from the municipality before counting this aid in your financing. We check your municipality before the quote.
Tax deductions
Energy-saving works are generally tax-deductible for private owners — but only the share you actually pay after subsidies counts. Confirm the details with the cantonal tax administration; we provide the supporting documents.

Does canton Vaud subsidise solar panels directly?
There is no general cantonal aid for a standard residential solar installation. The main support is the federal one-time grant from Pronovo. Targeted Vaud aids do exist: insulation combined with solar (M-01 at CHF 100/m²) and certain protected buildings (S04).
Should the application be filed before or after the works?
For the Vaud Buildings Programme, the application must be filed and approved before any purchase or start of works — material delivered to the site already counts as purchased. For a solar installation below 100 kWp, the Pronovo grant is claimed after commissioning instead.
Can Pronovo be combined with cantonal or municipal aid?
Yes, in several cases. The M-01 insulation bonus combined with solar and the Pronovo grant are cumulative — the applications are filed separately. Some targeted aids exclude each other though: S04, for example, cannot be combined with the M-01 solar bonus.
Is window replacement subsidised?
Replacing windows alone is not supported by measure M-01. Windows can be counted within a global renovation meeting the IP-14 or M-15 conditions, and may be tax-deductible depending on your situation.
Is a storage battery subsidised in canton Vaud?
The 2026 Vaud Buildings Programme has no cantonal aid dedicated to a residential battery alone. A possible municipal aid is checked at the project address. The battery belongs to the overall solar project — see our storage solutions.
Which documents are needed?
Depending on the measure: detailed quote, plans, CECB certificate, equipment quality certificates, signed forms, then paid invoices and commissioning reports for the payout. Abelarti confirms the exact list before filing and gathers the documents with you.
How long until the subsidy is paid?
It depends on the scheme, the available budget and how complete the file is. Never deduct an aid from your cash planning before it is confirmed in writing. Once granted, you have two years to carry out the works.
- Amounts and conditions: "Programme Bâtiments 2026 — Montants et conditions d'éligibilité", v1.1, January 2026, Canton of Vaud. Caps: CHF 200'000 per M measure, CHF 100'000 per IP measure (Impulse Programme), subsidy limited to 50% of the works cost. No purchase or works before the written grant decision.
- S04 "Solar & Heritage" aid: vd.ch — S04. Not cumulative with the M-01 solar bonus.
- CHF 100/m² bonus: the whole envelope element must reach U ≤ 0.15 W/m²K and the solar surface must cover at least 50% of the favourably exposed roof or facade areas; does not apply to buried elements deeper than 2 m.
