Solar PV subsidy in Valais: the Pronovo one-time grant
No cantonal subsidy in 2026
The Valais Buildings Programme contains no solar PV measure: the canton states that applications for photovoltaic installations must be submitted to Pronovo2. The federal one-time grant is claimed after commissioning for installations below 100 kWp.
Solar thermal (collectors for hot water) is, by contrast, funded by the cantonal programme: measure M-08, CHF 1'200 + CHF 650 per kW, for buildings existing before 2016, capped at 40%1.

Heat pump subsidy in Valais: CHF 9'000 or 13'000 when replacing fossil or electric heating
For a single-family home replacing an oil, natural-gas or fixed electric heating system, the Valais directive sets flat grants1:
Air-to-water (M-05): CHF 9'000, capped at 40% of the total investment.
Ground- or water-source (M-06): CHF 13'000, same cap; drilling by a certified company, or else a drilling log by a geologist (SIA 384/6) before any payment.
If the building was heated by electric radiators or room stoves, the very first hydronic heat distribution is funded separately (IP-19): CHF 15'000 up to 250 m² of energy reference area, CHF 60/m² above — provided all room heaters are replaced1.
Key conditions: replacement of an oil, natural-gas or fixed electric heating system; the heat pump in principle covers all heating, ventilation and hot-water needs (unless the remainder is renewable); heat-pump system module required up to 15 kW; sizing per SIA 384/2; metering of electricity used and heat produced (kWh). Works may only start after the e-mail confirming the filing — at your own risk until the formal decision.

No aid for replacement alone
Insulation measure M-01 does not subsidise replacing windows and doors1. New windows can, however, help improve the CECB class required by the global renovation measure (M-10); its stricter conditions are assessed case by case.
