For residential photovoltaics in Bern, the support is Federal Pronovo (CHF 350 – 700 / kWp). For photovoltaics, the main support is the federal Pronovo One-Time Remuneration. The canton of Bern does not pay a structural cantonal bonus dedicated to residential PV; its cantonal Energy Bonus complements the Buildings Programme for thermal renovations (heat pump, insulation, windows). Forms are available in French for the Bernese Jura. For a typical 8 kWp installation, the Pronovo one-off remuneration represents approximately CHF 2,800 to 5,600, to which any applicable municipal or cantonal bonuses are added.

The cantonal Buildings Programme covers: Heat pumps, insulation, windows, solar thermal, energy renovations — not photovoltaics. It is open to owners of primary and secondary residences in Bern, for new installations as well as replacements. A few exceptions exist (complex co-ownerships, protected zones).
